At Morningside Recovery, we believe in helping our community both in and out of our facility. While we provide services that help individuals find lasting sobriety, we help our community beyond our programs. Through our volunteer work, we’re able to support our Orange County community. Last Friday was no exception. Morningside Recovery took part in the local FeedOC SoCal event in Costa Mesa, California.
About FeedOC SoCal
FeedOC SoCal is an event thrown by the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The event allows the community to bring or buy groceries for those in need in Orange County. The organization works to help feed the hungry in the community. They strive to educate everyone about the children, seniors, and working poor communities that are currently suffering from hunger.
Morningside Recovery and FeedOC SoCal
The Morningside Recovery staff displayed their compassion goes beyond their workplace. Our employees were able to donate over 700 pounds of food to the event. We were then able to match this donation at Von’s groceries, leading to 1,400 pounds of food going to the charity event! Our local KABC news station spoke with CEO Mary Helen Beatificato about the donation. She spoke about how Morningside Recovery couldn’t be happier about helping the community, especially in a way that helps fight hunger. We try to participate in events like this with the 2nd Harvest Food Bank and other local charities. We look forward to helping more in the future.
