Integrative Therapies
Morningside supports several unique integrative therapies to enhance the more traditional therapeutic modalities offered in its residential treatment program. Among these offerings are yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy.
The notion of integrative therapy is that each patient is unique and distinctive, thus negating a “one size fits all” approach to recovery. The professional therapists at Morningside develop a program for each patient’s unique needs rather than reverting to a generic program, which may be less effective.
Because every body is different and has individual requirements, integrating several techniques into a physical therapy program can prove to be an enhancement to the patient’s residential treatment experience. Integrative therapy provides individuals relief from a range of psychological disorders, physical ailments and spiritual impasses. Trauma is stored within the body and such physical and emotional therapies can reduce the deleterious effects of such disturbances.
These hands-on physical therapies can go a long way in clearing up the traumatic residue of addiction, negative beliefs and attitudes, destructive desires, obsessions and compulsions.
