Bring Your Pet
Pets can be healthy support in your recovery
2007 is the inaugural year for the introduction of Pet Program at Morningside Recovery. The literature regarding the health benefits of having and caring for a pet would indicate a client’s recovery could well be enhanced by having their pet by their side. According to Blair Justice, PhD, a psychology professor at the University of Texas School of Public Health, “People take drugs like heroin and cocaine to raise serotonin and dopamine, but the healthy way to do it is to pet your dog, or hug your spouse, watch sunsets, or get around something beautiful in nature.”
In Newport Beach, CA you will find beautiful sunsets, beautiful nature to enjoy, and now Morningside Recovery Rehab is one of a very few treatment centers in the United States that incorporates Pet Program into their residential drug and alcohol treatment program.
