In order for Morningside residents to get the most they can out of addiction treatment, it is essential that they are of clear mind and physically healthy when drug treatment begins. This means that some residents may have to go through a period of substance detoxification — a process that involves clearing harmful substances from the body — prior to starting treatment. Morningside will oversee the detoxification process from any toxic substances (opiates, cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, benzodiazepine etc.) for future residents prior to his or her arrival.
Suboxone® — Opiates (including heroin, methadone, hydrocodone and oxycontin) are particularly difficult drugs to stop using because of the physical withdrawal symptoms. Morningside Addiction Recovery offers Suboxone® detoxification to the opiate-addicted person to slowly withdraw from the opiates under the supervision of a doctor. Suboxone® allows for a person to be more comfortable as it lessens many of the withdrawal symptoms associated with opiate detoxification. At Morningside Recovery, we do not believe in maintaining someone on Suboxone for an extended period, as our goal is to help each addict become completely drug free.
